Test Dummies Spotted on the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Ride at Universal Studios
A recent discovery by our reporter has revealed the presence of test dummies on the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift ride vehicles at Universal Studios. These dummies, strategically positioned on the track, offer a glimpse into the safety testing phase of the attraction's development. The ride, set to open next year, promises an exhilarating experience with its high-speed outdoor roller coaster design, reaching speeds of up to 72MPH.
The ride vehicles, adorned with a zebra-like black-and-white camouflage wrap, are a departure from the orange color observed during a previous inspection. Each coaster train will feature four cars, replicating iconic vehicles from the Fast & Furious franchise, with Dom's Dodge Charger taking the lead. The coaster track, measuring 4,100 feet, is designed to provide a dynamic experience, utilizing the park's natural environment and incorporating sound reduction technology for an immersive adventure.
While the coaster track was completed in the spring, the queue building is still under construction, with crews focusing on theming elements. The recent work has been centered around the structural pylons and safety netting, ensuring a secure and engaging experience for riders. The coaster's dramatic maneuver involves curving underneath and over the glass-roofed escalators, bringing guests close to the action.
As construction progresses, the airbrushed mural on the queue building's side is nearing completion, and the 101 Exchange Store, the official gift shop, has opened its doors, albeit without Fast & Furious merchandise. The attraction, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, is set to become the first high-speed outdoor roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood, offering an unforgettable adventure for fans of the franchise.
