Kobe Bryant's Air Force 1 Low: The Ultimate Snake Skin Sneaker?
Kobe Bryant's iconic Air Force 1 Low sneakers have been a staple in the sneaker community for years, and 2023 is no exception. With a series of commemorative sneakers in the works, the latest addition to the lineup is the Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low "Lenticular" - a snake skin-inspired masterpiece.
This new iteration takes the snakeskin theme to the next level with a metallic and shifting finish, creating a hyper-realistic snake appearance. The rest of the sneaker is packed with homages to Bryant, including his signature on the lateral heel and the "Mamba Mentality" phrase on the metal lace dubraes. The Nike logo is also featured on the mustache and insole, with a black snakeskin graphic adding to the overall design.
One of the most unique features of this sneaker is the mismatched inner-tongue tags, which display Bryant's iconic nos. 8 and 24 on the left and right shoe, respectively. But the real surprise comes when the shoe is under light, as the Swoosh's trim reflects a rainbow gradient.
Since Nike's resurgence of Kobe-branded Air Force 1 Lows in late 2022, nine different colorways have already been released, with more on the way. The snakeskin look has appeared in white, purple, and black, and even made its way to FC Barcelona. But the "Lenticular" iteration is set to be the most striking version yet.
Nike has also been releasing Air Force 1 Lows for LeBron James and Ja Morant, while Caitlin Clark has received her own colorways of Nike Kobe sneakers. The Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low "Lenticular" is expected to release before the end of the year, priced at $150, and will be available through Nike's website and select third-party retailers.
